What Changed
A big thank you to Deganya Aromatics for flagging this one. While logging invoices, they noticed that dates were saving as the day before the one they entered. That report led us to trace the issue across the entire app — and fix it everywhere.
The Bug
When you typed a date into any field in Maker Studio — a batch date, an invoice date, a sale date, a show date — the app was converting it to UTC midnight behind the scenes (2026-07-23T00:00:00.000Z). For makers in US time zones (Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific), that UTC midnight timestamp sits in the previous calendar day locally. So July 23 would save as July 22.
Before: Dates entered in any module could appear one day earlier than what you typed — in lists, reports, exports, and date filters.
Now: All date fields are stored at local noon, which stays on the correct calendar day regardless of your time zone. What you type is what saves.
Every Place This Was Fixed
This touched every part of the app where you enter a date:
- Expenditures — invoice dates, purchase dates, overhead expense dates, and the date range filter on the Expenditures Hub
- Sales — sale dates and the date range filter on the Sales log
- Batches — batch dates and planned batch dates
- Kits — kit dates
- Shows & Events — show start and end dates
- Equipment — equipment purchase dates, reservation start and end dates
- Calendar — all calendar event dates and range queries
- Finances — the date range selector on the Financial Overview and Supplies Cost report
- Marketing — scheduled content calendar event dates
- Workshop Events — workshop start and end dates when creating an event from a drop
- QuickBooks CSV Export — the date range used to filter your export
If you've noticed dates appearing a day off in any of these areas, they will now save and display correctly going forward. Existing records that were saved with the shifted date will retain their stored value — if you need to correct specific past entries, you can edit them directly.
